Decay may harm the blood vessels and nerves or pulp inside your teeth which become more prone to infection. This can lead to abscess or tooth sensitivity. Your teeth are held in your jaw by tooth roots. A root canal procedure is intended to save and repair an infected or decayed tooth.
Saving or repairing a natural tooth is always our preferred option. The most common method to achieve this is root canal treatment, known as endodontics. The procedure involves removing damaged or dead pulp in the tooth root and filling the space with a sealer paste and a rubber compound. The tooth can then be rebuilt, usually with a crown, to ensure it remains part of your dentition for a long time.
